My very dear Nadia,
Here is a photo with a couple of words of thanks for Mme Rafaël [sic] Salem, just as you asked.
I am really embarrassed: it’s not just you who are my victim—I must bother your students again,
too! May they forgive me generously for this.
The two letters of which you speak (the one from Nov. 15 from Washington and the one from
Dec. 9 from Providence) never reached me. Whose fault, ours (wrong address) or the post
office’s? God knows. It is most unfortunate!
As for the $60 Litré[sic]—it’s too much money at this moment, though I don't find this to be an
exaggerated price.
Wait a bit for an orch. score of my new composition Dances concertantes (are you satisfied with
the title?): I need it here (radio project) and also eventually for the editor of the Associated Music
Publishers. The score is very carefully corrected. The performance gave me great joy.*
I want so much to see you.
With all my heart,
Your
I. Str.
*I’ve had five rehearsals with excellent musicians.

vous me l’avez demandé.
Votre I. Str.
