Dear Vera,
First, business:
1) Do you want to give this package here to Elizabeth?
2) Do you want to give to the Bolms . . . ?
3) Here is the photo—I couldn’t find a frame here, or, [they were] too “beautiful.” In my
opinion, that would hardly suit [it].
4) I’ll send you the exact itinerary for Madison–Chicago.
5) The Hogarth—if you don’t like it, please tell me. I will take it back. I’m not sure
anymore whether I’d like to give it to you or not.
6) I couldn’t find what I wanted for you. I still hope to before your departure.
If gloves, what size?
Do you prefer a scarf, white or pink? Handkerchiefs?
What do I want . . . who knows anymore?
7) Thank you for the pencils, I look forward to [using] each in order.
8) Don’t forget you’re dining at Mrs. Smith’s on the 11th. Her sister is Miss Johnstone—
Boston, 122 Bay State Road.
I’ll write to you—fondly—I think of you all the time. May Christmas be kind to you.

avec moi.
(4) Vous enverrai l’itinéraire exact Madison Chicago
(5) Le Hogarth – s’il ne vous plaît pas, dîtes-je vous en prie. Je le reprendrai. Je ne sais plus
si j’aime vous le donner ou non.
(6) Je n’ai pas pu trouver ce que je voulais pour vous. J’espère encore avant votre départ.
