Dear Igor, Dear Vera,
I’ll arrive in Venice with such joy! Read the score to Threni—daren’t speak of it—what words
would I use to describe such extraordinary pages? Understand everything that my silence
contains.
Leave tonight for Bucharest. Hope to arrive in Venice at the Bauer Grunwald on the 19th. To tell
you of my joy and my impatience is impossible. I love you so and want you to know everything I
cannot express!
Until the 19th, God willing,
I am your,
NB
[P.S.] Best wishes to Bob.
