This appendix lists those letters held in the valise correspondence deemed to have the greatest interest to scholars. Building upon the essential work of Fiorella Sassanelli, this appendix is the first English-language treatment of this body of archival materials.[1] Transcriptions of each of these letters in their original French can be found in Sassanelli, Lili Boulanger: Frammenti ritrovati di una vita interrotta. As of the writing of this article, the original letters discussed here still require special permission from the Centre international Nadia et Lili Boulanger to be consulted at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. These sources represent invaluable resources for better understanding the life and career of Lili Boulanger, for contextualising Nadia Boulanger’s early career, and for reconstructing the dialogue shared between these two remarkable musicians.
