The Darling's Regent Hotel closed in April of 1976, however the building remains standing today. Since then it has been replaced as the Apex Hotel, a large family owned frandchise consisting of hotels in 10 locations. The Nelson Monument can be seen in the backgrond of both photos, serving as a situational landmark.

This postcard and other ephemeral documents pose significant value to historians, the family of the Darling's Regent Hotel and the family of both Marie and Harry. For someone, this postcard may tell the story of their parents or grandparents young love. For that reason alone, it is irreplaceably valuable.
