About the Curator

My name is Britany Wasswa, I was born in Brampton Ontario and I am currently majoring in psychology at the University of Guelph with the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist in the future. My favourite time of the year is winter, so I enjoy ice skating, tobogganing, and shopping during the Christmas season. I am also interested in music and attending concerts, some of my favourite artists are Trippie Redd, Kanye West, and Tyler the Creator. I love to take photos on my polaroid camera while discovering new places and shops with my friends and trying food from different restaurants.

I chose this postcard because I liked the colors on the plaid background, it has a warm color scheme and it reminds me of leaves changing color during fall. The photo of the outdoor landscape was also appealing because of the way the trees and the water contrast against the background.

In this course I learned the nostalgia and history behind postcards, and the significance that they held back then, and how they are still relevant today to communicate with your loved ones. I also learned to enjoy and sacred the simpler things in life and having a hard copy of a memory you made can be better than a picture on your phone.
