The historical value of this item is slightly above average. Firstly, it lends insights into how the PPI tried, and presumable succeded in promoting the poultry industry of Canada, and thus stimulating it's economy. Secondly, it shows the interconnectedness of similar organizations during the time period, such as the Ontario Agricultural College, The Department of Agriculture, The Pennsylvania State Poultry Federation, and the Poultry and Egg National Board of the US. Thirdly, it sheds light onto the eating habits of Canadians in the 50s, as well as how they might have changed over time.
It could perhaps have sentimental value to someone who was alive during the 50s, as they could very well remember having a copy of this booklet in their house, or even using the knoweldge within to actually barbecue a chicken or turkey.
Monetarily speaking, like much of ephemera it isnt really worth much. Written in pencil on the front cover is $10, which is the price it was purchased for from the collector.
Lastly, its research value is rather limited, since the historical value of it was mostly inferred.
