Purpose and function

When the pamphlet first came out, the purpose of it seems to be for newly working women (Bored Panda, 2010). Although it doesn’t specifically imply it, there are pictures of a middle aged or a little but younger woman on the cover and inside cover. This could be to attract other women to look at the pamphlet. Also, in the inside cover, it says that the recipes “can be made easily and quickly”, which attracts to the newly working woman, for quick deserts. 

Nowadays, in the 2000’s, people don’t use this pamphlet as they once used to. In could be still used however, to make the recipes. It could be a tradition passed down from grandparents to make a certain recipe in the pamphlet. It is also used now as a piece of Ephemera, to be studied and looked at by historians.
