The production of this cookbooklet occurred between 1925 - 1928 (Driver). By this time, Canada’s economy was returning after World War 1 (Belshaw). A lot of urbanization was taking place as well, with more of Canada’s population living in the city rather than out in the country (Belshaw). This can indicate that Baumert was only affected by the advances in technology at the time.
Cream cheese was invented in 1769 (Guttman et. al.), so it was no "new product" for people. With the new technology, however, cream cheese could be preseved longer in refrigerators - meaning people needed more uses for their longer lasting cream cheese. Thus the production of some recipes for their Baumert Cream Cheese as a cookbooklet was a very smart advertising strategy.
