Historical Context

The late 1800's and early 1900's were a major period of transition for the poster's advertised company. The Massey-Harris Company merger had been formed in 1891, which lead them to become one of the biggest companies in the agricultural industry. They were expanding their offices and sales across North America and the European region.

By the title of the poster, it's quick to deduce that the Company has not been merged with Ferguson, and is still thriving of the turn of the century agricultural industry. The Massey-Harris had an office open in Paris from 1887.
