collection of trade cards preserved in plastic sleeves

Although the collection of trade cards were introduced over 100 years ago, strong interest in trade cards has only emerged recently. When starting a collection of trade cards, whether it be small or vast it is important that you take the time to properly preserve this memory.

In particular this trade card was preserved in a thin plastic pouch acting as a shield from scratches and overhandling. This trade card is also stored in the archival and special collection floor of the library. This area of library ensures that anybody who touches this trade card will handle it with caution.

Proper preservation allows this item's memory and message to live on for many years to come. Although the shop it advertises has closed down, we are still able to learn many things about this trade card and use it as a historical reference from the 1890's.

The library is committed to ensuring that members of our user community with disabilities have equal access to our services and resources and that their dignity and independence is always respected.
