Value

Value

The aesthetic value of the trade card is highly valuable to the business it is advertising as it means that someone will take the time to look at the card and have an interest in the business. This trade card is useful to historians as it gives the name of the business and its location in Guelph.

This trade card also has value as it shows a glimpse into winter fashion. The woman is wearing fur and the boys appear to be wearing boots that would not meet today’s fashion norms.

Advertisements reflect what society values. Advertisements represent what is believed the customer is going to spend money on. With this business being closed, this trade card is one of the only chances historian have to glimpse on Guelph’s Jobbing House’s past.
