This trade card is the original from 1884. It is kept preserved in a plastic sleeve. It is also stored in a manila file folder within the archives to keep the card out of the light. The archive in which the trade card can be found is temperature and climate controlled.

 Examples of J.M. Bufford’s work can be found at the Met and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
