About the Curator

Hello, my name is Alexandra Kurceba. I am a first year History major at the University of Guelph. I have a great passion for history, and I hope to study and learn from it my whole life.  I’m currently interested in exploring how gender and sexuality have been perceived and treated through time, however I’m not set on a particular area of study yet. Before this course, I didn’t realize how specific an area of study could be, and completely underestimated how interesting studying Scottish tourism would be as well. Throughout this course, I have not only had the opportunity to develop my skills as an historian, but I have also been exposed to a period in history that I never considered before, and feel it was a very important experience to have in my first year. As for personal facts, I love reading, with a newfound love for Harry Potter (fun fact: Hogwarts is set in the Highlands of Scotland!) and listening to music. I wish to travel a lot through my life, and I'm very excited as I will be taking my first ever international trip to Italy this coming May. My next trip just might be Scotland, and I’ll be sure to send a postcard!
