Places in My Postcard

Scottish_Highlands_and_Lowlands.png

This postcard exhibits a photograph of women doing work and washing laundry in the highlands of Scotland. The Scottish highlands are a large range of mountainous lands that stretch from the cities of Helensburgh to Stonehaven, Scotland. The highlands mainly refer to the North and North-West areas of Scotland. The highlands are considered to be rugged and are also often refered to be considered as one of the most beautiful, and scenic areas in the United Kingdom.

The Highlands now is still considered to be a great place to travel. There is a television show that has been around since August of 2014 called Outlander. This television show is widely known and appreciated. It is based off of the novel series by Diana Gabaldon. This series has created wide appreciation for the Scottish highlands and has made tourism there more common. Outlander, as well as the broad history that Scotland holds has made the Highlands a popular tourist location.
