About the Curator

Hi there! My name is Emma Rutledge. I am a first year student at the University of Guelph, majoring in History. I have a huge interest in art, history, and travel. After graduating high school I decided to take a gap year, and I was lucky enough to do some travelling, spend time with family and volunteer in special collections at a local museum.

Upon recently learning of my heritage and its ties to Scotland, the country has sparked curiosity in me to learn more about its history and how it established its widely known and beloved culture. Learning that there was an option to take a course that discussed exactly these concepts was very exciting to me! Not only were we able to learn and examine this topic but we were also able to experience hands on historical properties of the country, such as in this assignment with our postcards. I have learned some extremely beneficial skills in this course that I am certain will help me in future courses throughout my degree.
