TARTE AU SUCRE DE TANTE LISE

I prepared a recipe for tarte au sucre from Julian Armstrong’s, A Taste of Quebec. My final reflections on this project are as follows.

The most interesting fact that I learned from this recipe is how many variations are out there in the world and how anyone can put their own twist on the dish to make it their own. Many of my classmates found that the sugar pie was too sweet! A great suggestion that I received was adding sea salt to the top of the pie to balance out the sweetness. Overall, the recipe was really simple to make and I had a lot of fun understanding and analyzing the ingredients and the culture that surrounds the recipe. Bon appétit!
