STEAMED WALNUT PUDDING

We prepared a recipe for Steamed Walnut Pudding from Danielle Champagne’s volume 6 International Cuisine: A Tasty Trip Around the World. Our final reflections on this project are as follows.

Steamed Walnut Pudding includes a sweet wine from a very known region of Portugal called Madeira. This recipe is a traditional wedding dessert in Portugal. Some of our classmates said the recipe had a light, cake-like texture, and the flavours of the sweet wine were perfectly balanced by the bitter walnuts! Our overall rating of the food based on the work involved in shopping, preparing, serving the food, and our classmates’ views would be a 9/10 as the recipe was very tasty. The steaming process was quite lengthy. We hope you are intrigued enough to try out this recipe, and that you have as much fun making it as we did!
