KEFTA TAGINE WITH TOMATO AND EGG
4 adult servings of this recipe cost $11.73.
If I had used the highest priced ingredients we saw for sale on October 6th in Guelph, this cost would be 32% higher. If we had used the lowest priced ingredients, the cost would be the same. (I chose all of the lowest price ingredients)
The ingredients that contributed most of the cost were the beef and crème fraiche. Seeing as the cost includes all of the spices it added up as well, however most of the spices I had at home so I didn’t actually have to buy them. The Ceylon cinnamon at $10.99 would have been the most expensive ingredient by far, however, since the recipe only called for ¼ tsp I used generic cinnamon, which was considerably cheaper.
