We selected Thai cuisine and a recipe for Tom Yum Kung soup. This recipe was from Vatcharin Bhumichitr, Stylish Thai in minutes: over 120 inspirational recipes, which was published in 2011 by Kyle Books.

Tom Yum Kung soup is one of the most traditional and representative dishes in Thai cuisine, it's always in the top ten list of the most popular and delicious Thai dishes in the world. Fresh Thai red Chilli and lemongrass play important roles in Tom Yum Kung soup, and those ingredients are not commonly used in western cuisine. The words "tom yam" are derived from two Thai words. Tom refers to the boiling process, while yam refers to a Thai spicy and sour salad. Because of Tom Yum's distinct hot and sour flavour from different spices and herbs, it attracts many people to have a try.
