NASI GORENG

We prepared a recipe for Nasi Goreng from the cookbook Recipi Sihat Masakan Melayu. Our final reflections for this project are as follows. The dish was originated from Southeast Asia, specifically countries such as namely countries Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Throughout the duration of this project, we learnt that traditionally, it is prepared with sweet soy sauce, sambal (chilli sauce), kerupuk (crackers) and acar (chilli peppers), and shrimp paste. However, the dish is limited to the creativity of the chef – eventually different cultures may end up having different signature ingredients to go with the fried rice. Even though we did not include those exotic spices, our classmates really liked the food as 95% of them said that they would definitely consider making it on their own. Personally, the both of us really enjoyed eating it as it is cost-efficient and delicious for students such as ourselves.
