JAPANESE SAPPORO MISO RAMEN

We selected Japanese cuisine and a recipe for miso ramen. This recipe was from Kimbo Barber, the Japanese Kitchen, published in 2004 by Kyle Cathie Limited. Miso ramen is popular, traditional Japanese recipe. It is served in many restaurants and households in Japan. The distinct ingredients such as bamboo, bean sprouts, miso paste, and seaweed blend well and play important roles in this typical soup dish. It shows the spirit of originality and emotional bonding of Japanese ethnic culture as well.

The cookbook has more than 200 pictures, including views, people, culture, ingredients, and recipes. Interestingly, since we are Chinese, we recognize the majority of the recipe names, although they are written in Japanese characters. The background culture and stories in the cookbook are what attracted us the most. It provided much knowledge about the culture and history of Japanese cuisine.

This exhibit was created by Chen Tianqi (Year 2, HAFA), Gu Minglu (Year 2, HAFA), and Li Tianqin (Year 2, HAFA).
