ITALIAN BRUSCHETTA

s04italianbruschetta.jpg

I selected Italian cuisine and a recipe for bruschetta. This recipe was from Adam Sachs’, Saveur Italian Comfort Food, which was published in 2015 by Weldon Owen Inc. Bruschetta (from Roman word bruscare- “to toast, burn”) is eaten as an appetizer or snack and is believed to originate from central Italy (Sachs 2015). It usually consists of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and olive oil. This recipe contains well-known, simple, and authentic ingredients that allow it to be an excellent example of this cultures’ cuisine.

This exhibit was created by Emily Bruce (year 3, Applied Human Nutrition).
