About this recipe

GUACAMOLE

In the past – judging whether an avocado is ripe or not has been tricky. When making this recipe I ran into a problem with the avocados; I thought they were ripe, however when I opened up the fruit it was still very hard and pale in colour. Indicating it was not yet ripe. Avocados are also fairly expensive compared to other fruits – potentially because they are coming from such a far distance and their increase in popularity. This recipe uses ingredients that are all abundantly grown in Mexico. Avocados and jalapeno peppers originated in Mexico thousands of years ago.

This cookbook is very minimalistic – it contains very few illustrations or colours. The few images that are in the cookbook are of the author preparing the dishes herself. For example, she used an image of herself making tortilla’s or as Mayans call them “uah”.

Overall, this is a very simple and quick recipe to make. It is not time consuming to prepare.
