When viewing the cookbook, the first thing we noticed was the cover. It is very intriguing as it is a photo of a bowl of pho, with eye catching red font. This is helpful in drawing in the reader. The next thing we found interesting upon opening the cookbook was that the author had given a thorough explanation of her ethnic background, along with photos of her family and where she grew up. We found this very helpful in understanding where this food came from and who the people who originally ate it came from. Lastly, we found it very fascinating that the recipe we had picked was considered a pho accompaniment, proving that author had included recipes for other food aside from pho, even though it was titled the Pho Cookbook. These included traditional Vietnamese coffee, cocktails and accompaniments.
