MINCE & TATTIES

  • Toast the oats in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown (~4-6 mins)
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  • Add onion and cook until browned, stirring frequently
  • Then add ground beef and cook (~12-15 mins)
  • Mix together onions and beef and add carrots, toasted oats and black pudding stirring frequently
  • Mix together all ingredients thoroughly
  • Add just enough water to cover all the ingredients
  • Season with salt and pepper then reduce to low heat and simmer or until carrots are soft
  • The finished mince should have a texture of thick stew
  • Follow mashed potato mix instructions on box bought from store
  • Serve with mashed potato on the side
