SZARLOTKA
I prepared a recipe for szarlotka from the Wielka Ksiega Ciast Siostry Anastazji. My final reflections on this project are as follows. The most interesting thing that I learned is that szarlotka was named after either Queen Charlotte of France or Princess Charlotte of Prussia. My classmates thought it was alright because I accidentally forgot to add the vanilla sugar and added it to the dough which led to the dough being undercooked. Many of the classmates thought that cinnamon should be added as cinnamon can add a nice flavour to this pie. Even though most of the pie was easy work, making the dough was hard as you needed to knead it for a long time (5-15 minutes) but it was all worth it once you tasted it coming right out of the oven.
