Based on our analysis, it seems that this recipe could be part of a healthy diet and eaten once per week. It’s saucy and versatile pasta base makes this dish easy to alter to cater to any diet. If eaten consistently we may change the meat proportions in the meatballs to use leaner cuts and add more vegetables for less fat and fibre. These additions or reductions may alter texture but only minimally for flavour. Based on our analysis, if the original recipe pertained, this dish should be eaten few times a week but not too often as 990 kcal is almost half the daily recommended amount.

The recipe provides sufficient nutrition for an average person but those who are watching their weight or blood pressure may add more vegetables or beans to reduce saturated fats and increase fibre. Less saturated fats and fibre helps reduce the bad cholesterol in our body. Incorporating more vegetables like leafy greens like spinach will not alter the flavour greatly and increase the fibre and vitamin content of the dish.
