Reflections

We prepared a recipe for LauLau from Helen Alexander's Hawaiian Cookbook. Our final reflections on this project are as follows. The most interesting thing we learned is how to build and use a traditional Imu to cook pig. This method is still being used in Hawaiian culture today. Overall, our peers enjoyed our dish with reviews such as "very unique combination, I have never had anything like it" and "the wrapping made it easy to eat". This recipe proved challenging to replicate in its authentic form. However, the unique aesthetic of the dish made it enjoyable to serve to our classmates.
