DUTCH BEEF CROQUETTES

We selected Dutch cuisine and a recipe for Meat Croquettes. This recipe was written by C.J. Wannee in the Cookbook of the Amsterdam Household School, which was published in 1910 as a textbook for the Amsterdam Domestic Science Academy. We chose to explore Dutch cuisine and culture because we are all Dutch! Since we all grew up with Dutch traditions, we were keen to cook something from this cuisine. Meat Croquettes are both popular in the Netherlands, and they are delicious! They can be found abundantly across Holland in restaurants, grocery stores, street vendors, and even at the popular fast food restaurant chain, McDonald’s. The countrywide availability of Meat Croquettes makes it very difficult to travel to Holland and not try one of these tasty treats! This exhibit was created by Anna de Lange (Fourth Year Applied Human Nutrition), Katelyn Nieuwhof (Fourth Year Applied Human Nutrition) and Jordan Silver (Fourth Year Agriculture Science).
