About this recipe

SPAGHETTI WITH MEATBALLS

Most of the ingredients in the recipe are very traditional such as the herbs and garlic but the Parmesan-Reggiano is probably the most symbolic distinct Italian ingredient we used.

Spaghetti and meatballs was innovated by Italian immigrants in America. The recipe did not stray far from the traditional ingredients as abundance of tomatoes, herbs and parmesan were used. The author provides good insights on how the quality of ingredients, like freshness and age, play an important role in developing flavour in Italian cuisine.

She also elaborates the history of ingredients, by distinct regions of Italy, which shows the diversity and development of flavourful ingredients that are used today.
