SZARLOTKA
- Cut the margarine into the flour
- Mix the egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla sugar in with the sour cream
- Add all of the ingredients (not the apples) into the flour and make it into a dough
- Put the dough into the fridge for about half an hour
- Peel the apples and grate them with the large holes on the grater
- Put half of the dough in the bottom of your pan, and then add the grated apples
- Cover the apples with the other half of the dough and use a fork to put holes in the top
- Bake the pie for about 20-30 minutes at 170-180 degrees Celsius
I translated this recipe from Polish to English as the book is written in Polish. Some steps that I changed was instead of just placing the dough on the pie, I grated the dough so that some of the excess heat from the inside can escape.
